Our Sustainability Pledge
We do what we can to limit our impact, by…
Reducing Air Miles
We always try to buy British when we can. Quality, freshness and variety come first, and we’re lucky that some of the best growers of Roses and Alstroemeria are right here in West Sussex. While we still support international growers, we're mindful of air miles—so if we can find great flowers closer to home, we do.
Reusing and Upcycling
The cellophane we currently use isn’t recyclable and takes a long time to break down. We’ve explored alternatives like cellulose, but they can start degrading too soon—sometimes before your flowers even get home. We’re watching new eco-options closely, and as soon as there’s one that works well and is affordable, we’ll make the switch.
In the meantime, we offer reusable containers and vases—just ask when you order. Or bring your own in!
Reducing Non-Biodegradable Products
We recently switched to biodegradable floral foam. It works just as well as the traditional kind, and you’d never know the difference. We’re still using up our old stock, but going forward, we’ll keep choosing greener options wherever we can.
Supporting Local
We love working with local people—freelancers, schools, community groups—anyone helping our village thrive. It’s a small thing, but we believe in doing what we can.
